Literature and nature often intersect: nature’s aesthetic informs great writing; great writing enhances our perception of the beauty nature holds. Shakespeare and the seasons are the perfect collaborative pair. In particular, springtime and summer hold the spirit of Shakespeare’s words in this essay; both explode into our senses offering overwhelming joy, brief in initial impact yet perennial in our memory.

John McCluskey has had poetry, fiction, non-fiction and visual art published extensively worldwide. John has worked in the IT industry and has a Masters in Writing (MAW) from Manhattanville College in New York. He lives in Connecticut with his wife.
